Choosing a Service

Our congregation celebrates Holy Communion (also known as the Eucharist, or the Lord's Supper) each Sunday morning at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m.

Traditional Service:  8:00 a.m.

At 8 o'clock the liturgy is phrased in beautiful Elizabethan prose,  read from the Book of Common Prayer; it resonates with language spoken in the Church for hundreds of years.  This "Rite One" Eucharist, as it is called, incorporates deeply moving prayers about humanity's sinfulness and God's graciousness.  A sermon is always preached, and favorite hymns sung.

Contemporary Family Service:  10:30 a.m.

At 10:30 the liturgy is phrased in contemporary language, with all prayers printed in a user-friendly leaflet.  A pipe organ leads the congregation's singing, and a sermon is always preached.  This "Rite Two" Eucharist celebrates God's grace in daily life and provides great seasonal variety in worship.  Dozens of children and youth join the congregation as their Sunday School ends mid-service, and kids are often called upon to read Bible lessons and lead prayers or singing.  The choir enriches worship September through June.

Coffee Hour.  A warm and friendly coffee hour follows each service, where acquaintances old and new enjoy each other's company.
