Rector, wardens and vestry:
Our rector, The Rev. Ann Lukens, and our wardens, Marilyn Taylor and
Doug Birrell, serve as a steering committee to guide the work of
the vestry (elected governing board) of St. Michael's.
Together, these ten leaders set parish priorities and policies,
manage finances and facilities, and oversee all program areas.
Each year, every vestry member brings that oversight into focus by
concentrating in two of the following areas: administration,
education, facilities, finance, outreach, parish life, parish
development, stewardship, and worship. In fall, winder, and
spring, the vestry invites the whole congregation to an All Parish
Meeting to propose and evaluate various courses of action.
-
Vestry-appointed Leaders: Clerk, treasurer, pledge
secretary, historian and Parish Development Team.
Each year the vestry appoints a member of the congregation to serve
as its clerk, to maintain all documents and vestry minutes for the
parish; a pledge secretary to provide a confidential accounting of
donations; a treasurer, to keep the financial records for the
parish, and a historian to maintain a continuing chronicle of major
events. In 2002, the vestry also appointed an ongoing
six-member Parish Development Team to research and recommend
actions, to be undertaken to build up the life of the parish.

Parish Administrator: A part-time professional
administrator serves as the day-to-day nerve center for parish
communications and projects.
