CLERGY

The ministry of our rector, The Rev. Dr. Ann Lukens, is marked by a passion for lively liturgy, a conviction that scripture provides the best available script for our own lives, and a confidence that God works creatively with our own purposeful efforts at faithful living. She recently completed a doctorate on the relationship between Christianity and today’s culture, studying ways religious traditions are developing as they move into new situations. Ann+ is founding lead on the diocesan Resurgent Church project, which helps clergy re-imagine ways to guide a congregation through these rapidly changing times.

Our associate priest, The Rev. John Schaffer, is highly experienced and well respected across the diocese. Having actively served three congregations for over 40 years, in “retirement” he has served five more in interim ministries, provided care and support to fellow retired clergy, and is now in his 20th year as Secretary to the Convention of our diocese. Fr. John is affectionately known for his story telling, and for his uncanny knack for making little known facts reveal their true relevance to our lives.
