New Construction
These are exciting times at St. Michael’s! We have just moved into our expansive new
wing that spans the face of the church, and we are eager for everyone to enjoy it with
us.
Work started back in 2008 when we clarified our mission—Bringing Faith to Life in the
Heart of Issaquah—and we involved 150+ parishioners in developing a five-phase
Vision to accomplish it:
- Celebrate living liturgies that draw on our Anglican heritage in fresh ways
- Serve as a base camp that equips Christians for faithful living
- Support adults and children in learning to live their faith together
- Foster a climate of caring that runs through us and into the world
- Support competent and visionary leaders who will guide us into the future
We realized that we could not fully realize this vision in our limited facilities, so we drew
up plans for new construction. The finished wing has opened many new possibilities by
upgrading our nursery and Sunday School spaces, providing meeting rooms for diverse
gatherings, creating a roomy reception area for conversation before and after services,
giving our outstanding choir their own place to rehearse and care for equipment, and
conveniently relocating expanded restrooms on the main level.
